We got to see Finding Nemo on Sunday with M&G. I have to say that it was absolutely adorable and I loved it. I cant wait until it comes out on DVD. Luke has been quoting Dory ever since saying, I will call you Squishy. Bad Squishy! We arent sure yet what the little pale purple things that ink themselves are, but Luke thinks theyre octopi, while I have no clue. I think that I also was bitten by an insect in the car on the way to the film. M squashed a blood-engorged mosquito and none of us knew on whom she (mosquito lady) had been feasting. Well, I found out upon waking yesterday morning, as I had a huge itchy spot on my left wrist and another small one two inches away on the bone. Its still very angry and itchy, despite my having applied rubbing alcohol to it yesterday.

As for yesterday, we spent most of it relaxing around the house with a fan blowing all the hot air out of the house through the slider. We also went to the gym for almost and hour and Luke made cookies. Our evening was spent at Andys. He bought us dinner and we returned to his place to watch Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure. Unfortunately for Luke and I, we may not be able to indulge in meals from Chilis anymore. Its not that Chilis is our first choice in the list of many restaurants in the Madison area, but its one of Andys favorites and he drags us there on a very regular basis. The reason we may not be able to indulge is because we were both overcome with some major stomach upset not long after eating. It seems the more often we eat at home, the less likely our stomachs are to tolerate food prepared outside of our home. I dont know if its the way in which the food is handled in the kitchens of the various chains (McDs, BK, Chilis, Applebees, etc.) or if its the higher fat content. It tastes good, but its a high price to pay for what follows 20 minutes later (for me) and a couple hours later (for Luke). Its a testament to who has the more sensitive digestive system.

My interview was this morning. They gave me another test when I got there and then went on to do your standard interview deal. I really hope I get the job because we need the money desperately, even if it doesnt start until July. I think I made a decent impression, as the interviewer said that she was impressed with my test scores. She asked me if I though t myself capable of doing the job, of being able to emotionally detach and keep my nose out of conversations. The job entails dialing, connecting with the party on the other end, and then fading into the background. Anything I hear, no matter how wretched it might be, I will have to keep it to myself. I would not be permitted, per FCC regulations, to report it to anyone. It sounds interesting, especially since I am such an information voyeur. Also, depending on my hours, I would get shift differentials, boosting my rate of pay a decent amount. Cross your fingers, everybody, I really need a job.

I spoke with my family on Fathers Day. They all congregated at my Grams house for dinner and together time. Im so glad to hear my Grandmamas voice. Shes happy and seemingly healthy as well, so thats always beneficial to me. She sounds so happy and excited about living. I dread the day that vibrancy leaves her voice. Apparently my gram made kitty litter cake and Dad was having a very difficult time with it. Hes not uptight about such things in the least, but having three cats who are exclusively of the house variety, he deals with a great deal of real soiled cat litter and to eat something that uncannily resembles it can be extremely unnerving, I imagine. I know that I would have a similar initial reaction, but I guess that one I were to dive in and realize that it was tasty would do much to ease my aching psyche.

While I was on the phone, I learned a tip from Sarah. She said that I could try to keep Ghostcat stimulated and off the counters by hiding treats around the house for him to find. Lo and behold, more than 24 hours later, two of the hidden treats are gone and he has stayed off the counters. Granted, this behavior only rears its ugly head when Luke is at home, but its good to know a way to keep him from indulging in such rudeness. I think that GC feels as though he is in competition with Luke for my attention, that he should have exclusive access to me because that is what he has all day long while Luke is working. I would be willing to bet that its a shock to his little kitty system to suddenly have to share me with another being at the end of the day. Sunday night he was absolutely adorable, though. He spent much of the time we were watching television in bed snoozing away on my chest. When I say snoozing, I mean out cold. For him to sleep on me like that is very rare and it almost was enough to convince me to let him sleep in the bedroom with us, but when Luke got up to brush his teeth, it woke him up and he followed Luke out of the room, having little interest in returning afterward.

I hate Tuesdays. I wish Luke were at home with me, sitting here playing on his Nintendo emulator in his boxer shorts just like he was yesterday. I dont know whether to curse the weekends or the weeks.
